A 58-year-old man died in a serious accident that occurred this morning on the main road I - 3 near the village of Telish. This was announced by the spokesperson for the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (ODMVR) in Pleven Mariana Tsvetkova.
The accident occurred on an icy section. The driver of a heavy truck with a tractor - a 46-year-old man, moving towards Sofia, lost control of the steering. The trailer entered the oncoming lane and hit a passenger car head-on. The car was dragged meters from the scene of the collision. The driver of the passenger car - died 58 years old, added Tsvetkova.
Immediately after receiving the signal at 07.35, the scene of the accident was visited by teams from the District Office in Cherven Bryag, the “Traffic Police“ at the ODMVR - Pleven and the District Office “Fire Safety and Population Protection“ in Cherven Bryag.
Inspections and initial procedural and investigative actions are being carried out. The area is secured, and traffic is regulated to prevent subsequent incidents. At the moment, the organization of traffic in the area has not been changed, the spokesperson for the police in Pleven also said.
Three people have died in accidents in the past 24 hours in the country, and 18 have been injured, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on its website. In the past 24 hours, there have been 17 accidents with injuries and deaths.
