The deputy governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Andrey Gyurov arrived at the presidential institution building for a meeting with President Iliana Yotova within the framework of the constitutional procedure for appointing a caretaker government, BTA reports.

Yotova welcomed him at the entrance to the presidency. The meeting between the two will be closed.
Earlier, President Iliana Yotova met with BNB Governor Dimitar Radev and the bank's deputy governors Petar Chobanov and Radoslav Milenkov.
It would be a violation of Bulgarian and European legislation, as well as established ethical norms, if I became acting prime minister, BNB Governor Dimitar Radev said after the meeting.

After talks with President Yotova, BNB Deputy Governor Petar Chobanov said that he would not accept being acting prime minister. I do not think that I am needed in this role at the moment, he added.

I will not become acting prime minister, said BNB Deputy Governor Radoslav Milenkov, after the meeting with the head of state. I have too many commitments at the European Central Bank and at the BNB, he added.
