The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) will pay in full the dental activities reported and invoiced by dentists for the month of December 2025. The decision comes after a thorough analysis of the requested payments and a meeting between the management of the fund and the Bulgarian Dental Union (BZS).
The initial review of the data showed that the amounts for the last month of the year exceed the activity usually reported by the profession. This has necessitated additional discussions between the health authorities and representatives of dentists in order to ensure the lawful spending of public funds.
After applying the control mechanisms provided for in the law, the NHIF has confirmed that the invoiced amounts will be transferred to the contractual partners. Thus, dentists will receive their remuneration for the services provided at the end of the past year.
The dialogue between the public fund and the Bulgarian Dental Union (BDU) has led to the finalization of payments, ensuring predictability for the dental sector.
