"I don't know about building a party for President Rumen Radev. In this short version, it is not realistic to build a party until the elections, but the moment an alternative is created in the governance of the state, these people will be subjected to extreme repression". This was stated by former acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivan Demerdzhiev to bTV.
He explained that he had watched Rumen Radev's interview on Panorama on BNT, and the president's answers provided clarity on issues concerning domestic politics as well as international politics, news.bg revealed.
Demerdzhiev was categorical that his path continues from now on with Rumen Radev. He hopes to create a country where there is order, security, law and the fight against corruption.
Ivan Demerdzhiev said that he could not say whether he would be a candidate for deputy on party lists. "I have repeatedly declared my support for the president and will continue to support him. Positions should not be an end in themselves. Power and positions should be a tool with which to achieve goals. If positions are used as an end in themselves, they are absolutely useless", he said, not answering questions about whether he wants to be a deputy or a minister.
According to him, many people offer help to the head of state without asking for positions. "We must be careful about how to give way to people who want to help Radev. Many people offer absolutely good intentions to help with whatever they can, without seeking positions, benefits or formal inclusion in a political project," Demerdzhiev also said.
