The BSP Congress remains on February 7 and 8, with an overwhelming majority the National Council confirmed its decision, the chairman of the Youth Union of the BSP Gabriel Valkov told journalists after today's meeting of the party's supreme body.
If I'm not mistaken, the vote was 86 to 38 for it to remain on February 7, he added, quoted by BTA. Valkov specified that the leadership made the proposal to change the date. The leadership made this proposal, in this case Atanas Zafirov, who did not resign and wants to remain the chairman of the party, but the majority decided that we are moving towards a congress and a change of chairman, he said. According to him, the congress will decide Zafirov's fate.
Vulkov announced that the National Council has adopted the platform for the upcoming elections, but has left it open for the next week, so that if there are any additions by the congress, they can add them and adopt it in its final form at the forum.
At its meeting today, the BSP National Council confirmed its decision to convene a meeting of the 51st Congress of the party on February 7 and 8, the party's press center also announced.
A plan for the organization of the Congress meeting was adopted, as well as a draft political platform for running in the early parliamentary elections, to be approved by the congress, the statement also states.
