The BSP platform for the upcoming early parliamentary elections returns the party to the left on the political map - where it has the greatest weight. This was stated by the Chairman of the BSP City Council - Sofia Ivan Takovna at the meeting of the National Council, which was held on Saturday.

"At the first meeting of our Working Group, we heard many and different opinions. The main part of them were related to the policies that the BSP should defend. Therefore, we decided to work on a platform in two documents - a political platform and measures by sectors for the implementation of the political platform. We are also preparing a third document - a Manifesto. It will contain the essence of the political platform, which is under the title "A different Bulgaria is possible", said Takov.

Ivan Takov was categorical that it is high time for the BSP to return to its place on the Bulgarian political map, where it has the greatest weight - namely, firmly on the left.

''The BSP bore the entire imperative pressure of the transformation of the system after the changes in 1989. During all this time, the BSP made many mistakes. However, in politics there are mistakes that you cannot avoid. Sometimes you have to take actions that you do not want to take. There were decisions that the BSP did not want, but had to take over the years. Ultimately, it is very important today to realize one truth - if they cannot avoid mistakes, wise politicians and political parties should at least try not to repeat them. The truth is that the series of mistakes weakened the BSP and scattered the left".

The Chairman of the BSP - Sofia City Council noted that over the past two decades, ''we have seen enough of corruption fighters''.

"They took power in the name of fighting corruption, and then some other fighter had to come to remove them because they were corrupt. And now it is another deja vu. The new "good" and "moral" will come with a request that everything will be fine, commented Ivan Takov.

"Corruption in Bulgaria, however, is not a matter of morality. It follows from the very logic of governance in the neoliberal state. Socio-economic inequalities are not a matter of laziness or lack of ability. The person is the last concern of the neoliberal state. This is the state of the minority of oligarchs, not the Bulgaria that Bulgarian citizens want".

"BSP is the voice of working people - of wage earners, of small entrepreneurs, of people from the liberal professions, of everyone whom the primitive capitalism imposed in the years of transition deprives of the right to a dignified old age, social protection and the right to personal and professional realization. In Bulgaria, we are increasingly observing a deep class division, in which a few super-rich concentrate resources and profits without, however, making their corresponding contribution to the development of the state and social systems. In this environment, we, the socialists, have the primary task of being a representative and defender of the vast majority of people who are harmed by the imposed class division", he added.
