"Special issues" between Bulgaria and the US became the reason for our entry into Trump's Peace Council

This is very different from the explanations that Boyko Borisov gave to our media. I personally understand with concern that there are special issues between Bulgaria and the US. And I only suspect, and I hope, that these issues are personal, not national. And I will be outraged if personal issues lead to national humiliation and risks, the MEP also commented

At a meeting of the EPP group, I raised the issue of the signing of the so-called Charter of the "Peace Council" (Trump's personal international LLC) by the Bulgarian Prime Minister.
I noted that this event is a significant risk for the EPP - because from the entire EU only two heads of government are signing - the well-known Viktor Orban and the not-so-famous Rosen Zhelyazkov, who is usually, and generally correctly, described as a “pro-European Prime Minister from the EPP”. The group debate was in the context of the Greenland crisis and the unequal trade agreement between the EU and the US.
I emphasized that the attitude towards Donald Trump's racketeering policy and the unified European response against it will be part of the election campaign in our country. And I warned them not to be surprised that I personally will strongly attack GERB and Borisov for this signature - from entirely principled positions and beliefs.

This was published on his Facebook page by MEP Radan Kanev. Here is more from his comment on the case:

Mr. Weber's answer was interesting*:
"Regarding the situation with Bulgaria: in Zagreb, Boyko Borisov gave us an explanation that some special issues between the US and Bulgaria necessitated this action, but the Charter will not be ratified".

*I emphasize that this is an exchange of remarks in front of hundreds of people (MPs and employees of the MPs, the group and the EP). I never quote personal conversations publicly.
