„The appointment of a caretaker government is delayed and Bulgaria is again in an institutional vacuum. I call on President Yotova to immediately appoint a caretaker prime minister“, said GERB leader Boyko Borisov in a video published on his Facebook profile.
„The government in resignation has been deliberately kept in this position for the third month now. I compare the resignation of President Rumen Radev and just a few days after that the Constitutional Court ruled and he went to do what he wanted. Absolutely pointless consultations have been taking place since December, because all party leaders stated their position for immediate early elections“, said Borisov.
„And by immediate we meant this to be March. But now it's dragging on and at the same time electricity prices are rising. I want to clarify that the government has an obligation to provide electricity. From there, the independent regulator sets the prices“, the GERB leader pointed out.
“They must be immediately as sharp, as strict as possible with the largest possible fines on those who allow themselves, especially in the ERPs, to issue invoices for a long time or to have inflated prices“, Boyko Borisov urged.
In his words, otherwise the regulator must resign, as the government has done.
“When the president resigns, the prime minister resigns, the parliament cannot work, as it is used only for election purposes, I insist that President Yotova immediately end these consultations and procrastination and appoint a caretaker prime minister“, Borisov said.
“From what I see, it will be PP-DB and Peevski, because they together voted for Gyurov“, he added he.
Borisov himself stated that he has no claims on who will be the acting prime minister, and his only claim is that he be appointed immediately, since the state is not working and there is no one to bear responsibility.
