I thought that the congress would divide the BSP, but the opposite happened. We saw that the BSP's instinct was triggered. This was commented by Alexander Simov on bTV after yesterday's BSP congress, at which the delegates elected Krum Zarkov as chairman of the left.
"The election of a leader took place after a real chairman's debate. Visions, ideas were presented. The delegates decided to support Krum Zarkov. Something good happened in the BSP. The BSP is going through a crisis, but I believe that this congress marks the beginning of the end of this crisis", Simov added, quoted by novini.bg.
In Krum Zarkov, we found the person who can realize what all socialists are waiting for - the BSP to be revived, renewed, he added.
Krum Zarkov is an honest person, with a pro-European mindset. In my opinion, he is a person that the BSP needed, commented Assoc. Prof. Daniel Smilov.
"Zarkov will have the task of balancing between those he needs to keep as an electorate and trying to expand to young and other groups of people. He needs a longer mandate to implement the changes he wants," he added.
