At the moment, the BSP has not received a request from Rumen Radev to run together in the elections. This was stated in the program "Na Fokus" on Nova TV by the chairman of the BSP Krum Zarkov.

"At the moment, no such request has been made to the BSP, as far as I know. After all, I was only elected yesterday. But I do not believe that there will be such a request - there is simply no political logic at this moment", he emphasized.

Zarkov also commented on his election as head of the BSP - a party with over 130 years of history. "The question is how many years the BSP will have a future. I think there are at least that many more," he emphasized.

And he added: "My election as head of the BSP is an event that really seems unexpected, but analysts and many people sometimes make mistakes. Because they judge the BSP by what was seen in the last year, and not by what it is. The Socialist Party is a real, real political organism. Some like it, others oppose it. This is normal. But this is a political community of people. And it is very valuable because, among other things, it is one of the very few - if not the only one.".
According to him, his election as head of the party is "something that was not agreed upon with anyone". "This is an election that became possible because people from the BSP started nominating me and supporting my candidacy - often against direct instructions they received from the current state of the BSP leadership", he said.

And he expressed hope that "this will drag on and all people will understand that it makes sense to engage in politics": "It makes sense to support someone. It makes sense to vote. It makes sense to participate. Because it is not true that those who have conquered everything have simply sealed the system and it cannot be broken".

Zarkov was categorical that the BSP is preparing for elections - humbly, but confidently. "Humbly - because it has assessed its mistake. But confidently - because it has shown that it has the strength to see its mistake, to take responsibility and to move forward stronger", he emphasized. And he added that by mistake he meant "the party's compromise with Peevski".
Regarding whether there is a division in the party, Zarkov pointed out that "there are ideological disputes that create energy - useful, creative". "But there are also completely artificially created divisions. And that's exactly where we have to be very careful", he emphasized.

Zarkov also commented on the new revelations in the "Petrohan" case. "Like every Bulgarian, I am shocked by the counting of corpses on the Bulgarian mountains. I will not engage in speculation. I can only hope, and insist - that the competent authorities do their job and that this crime is not another in the long list of unsolved crimes".

In his words, when we talk about "politics, statehood, institutions and changes - we should not forget that this is not just a rhetorical dispute between people in television studios or an attempt by someone to get a seat in parliament".
