A 7-year-old child who was hit by a motorcyclist on the sidewalk was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Plovdiv

The young man, who does not have a license, lost control of the motorcycle and rode in the pedestrian zone

The 7-year-old child, hit by an 18-year-old motorcyclist in the Yambol village of Vodenichane, was urgently transferred last night to the “St. George“ hospital in Plovdiv, bTV reported.

He has multiple injuries, including a severe head injury, the medical facility reported. He is conscious.

The seven-year-old child is visiting his grandparents for the Kukeri holidays in the village.

Tsonka Ilieva is outside with her children and sees the motorcyclist lose control, ride on the sidewalk and hit the little boy. The motorcyclist is 18 years old, does not have a license. His alcohol and drug tests were negative.

The child was initially taken to a hospital in Yambol, but was later transported by medical helicopter from the Yambol Regional Hospital to Plovdiv.

“I have an appeal to everyone – in the settlements to be considerate, to drive at the allowed speed“, said Milen Angelov, mayor of the village of Vodenichane.
