Tsvetanka Andreeva: Political figures who turned out to be connected to the "Petrohan" case will suffer heavy damages

"The demand for resignations is pre-election. What is the role of the Sofia mayor for funding a non-governmental organization that deals with environmental protection? I do not see reprehensible behavior from anyone," said Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov

Shocking revelations about the death of the six people, including a 15-year-old child, were made today by the Ministry of Interior and the prosecutor's office. PP-DB wants SANS to declassify documents about the activities of the NGO.
"In the Christian sense, for me this is absolute evil", said political scientist Tsvetanka Andreeva on the show "Denyat ON AIR".

She added that she strongly detests the politicization of such cases and pointed out that the situation raises the question of the relationship of politicians with closed societies. According to her, this is an influence of the authorities, which has nothing to do with democracy.
The need for publicity
"Society needs the institutions to respond to the incident as publicly as possible", political scientist Assoc. Prof. Milen Lyubenov told Bulgaria ON AIR.

He pointed out that there is strong distrust and emphasized that the top of the prosecutor's office cannot be usurped by an illegitimate representative and at the same time conduct an objective investigation.

According to him, this case has no analogue in the history of the country and it is important that all facts and circumstances be clarified.

The politicization of the tragedy
"We are in an election campaign. Even the president's statement on the matter is entirely political," Andreeva commented.

She added that according to Rumen Radev, democracy has failed and he is using it to attack the state, "which does him no honor".

Andreeva noted that he, as head of state, must take some of his blame.
"The demand for resignations is pre-election. What is the role of the mayor of Sofia for funding a non-governmental organization that deals with environmental protection? I do not see reprehensible behavior from anyone," said Assoc. Prof. Lyubenov.

He specified that the accusations should be carefully analyzed, without rushing to political conclusions.
Economic and political consequences
"Very serious damage will be suffered by all political figures who turned out to be connected to this scandal. The expensive equipment is very impressive,", noted Tsvetanka Andreeva.

She commented that the consequences for political players could be serious.

"The official cabinet will be subordinated to Radev's interests. I suspect that Radev will come out with very strong political messages on March 3. I categorically believe that the "Radev" plan is being played out, said Andreeva.

Assoc. Lyubenov added that the most important task of the caretaker government is for citizens to vote freely and peacefully and to increase voter turnout.
