Kancho Stoychev: There is no right decision in choosing a caretaker prime minister

Once again, we see the madness of changing the Constitution. We know who made these changes - why do we tolerate these people?

We are about to enter an election campaign against the backdrop of a crisis of trust in institutions. The path to nihilism is opening, people stop believing in good intentions, they see politicians as hopeless. This was stated to BNT by sociologist Elena Darieva.

Sociologist Kancho Stoychev commented on the tension in society after the tragedy in “Petrohan“: “There is something confused and that is public communication. Six days without finding a camper the size of a tank, citizens are paying for thousands of cameras and 60,000 Ministry of Interior employees. The fact is that the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has not found a way to be accountable to the people.”

„Not only the choice of an acting prime minister, but also of an interior minister will be scrutinized. By Thursday we expect to hear who the acting prime minister will be. This will give new impetus to the election campaign. Society is divided into agitators. It is not the job of the institutions to make journalists and the public read between the lines“, Darieva specified.

Political scientist Assoc. Prof. Stoycho Stoychev is of the opinion: „I think that Yotova, after 9 years in which she has been handing out and revoking citizenship and signing pardons, now appointing an acting prime minister, she feels wonderful. She has one year ahead of her to exercise her presidential powers. Whatever the choice, the result is expected to be determined. For Rumen Radev, all caretaker prime ministers are good because he has come now to win elections.“

“There is no right decision in choosing a caretaker prime minister – once again we see the madness of changing the Constitution. We know who made these changes – why do we tolerate these people? They need repentance and a monastery, they should not be in politics“, Kancho Stoychev is categorical.

He also commented on the changes in the Electoral Code, insisting that the rules should not be tampered with before elections: “It is the duty of our state to create convenience for every Bulgarian to vote.”
