Today or tomorrow at the latest it will become clear who will be the acting prime minister. This was stated to BNT by Prof. Plamen Kirov, a constitutionalist and former constitutional judge.
„If there was a delay in the procedure, the fault is not with President Yotova. First, the parliament went on a month and a half Christmas break. Second, Radev resigned. This led to a technological delay, but it is not fatal. Easter falls in mid-April“, he explained.
According to him, Yotova conducted very orderly consultations with potential candidates for prime minister and with the parliamentary groups, which is her constitutional obligation.
He believes that the election campaign began at the end of last year.
„Among the five who agreed to be acting prime ministers, only Gyurov made an agreement after consultations with the president. He said: „I accept without hidden conditions.” What is the ultimate meaning of this phrase? „I accept, but you will be obliged to accept those I propose.“ He must leave his post at the BNB the moment he is appointed prime minister“, Kirov specified.
