The choice of Andrey Gyurov is up to President Iliana Yotova and we do not dispute her right to choose. After five people remained from the list of candidates, she settled on him. Let's hope that fair elections will be held, as all political formations in Bulgaria expect. This was stated by the chairman of the UDF, Rumen Hristov, in “Panorama” on BNT, quoted by novini.bg.
Regarding the changes in the Electoral Code and the limitation of the electoral sections outside the EU, he stated: “The concern came from Turkey, because there are about 300 Bulgarian citizens there, who were unjustly displaced during the Revival process. You know how they voted – they can’t fill out their documents, IP addresses with 1,000 applicants – we were worried that it would be abused. We submitted a proposal to increase the sections from 20 to 30, but the PP-DB colleagues did not agree,” he explained.
“I really hope that the elections will be organized better. The two big countries where a lot of Bulgarians vote are Great Britain and the USA. When there was no limit on the sections in Great Britain, all parties received 21,000 votes, and when there was a limit – they voted around 20,000. There was nothing that limited a large influx of people to vote. The case is similar in the USA,” he said.
Rumen Radev is our main opponent in these elections, because we are fighting for first place. We will not give up on this goal, Hristov is categorical.
He stressed that they will actively fight for judicial reform. "The coalition will not be easy. It may be a three-way one. It was not easy for us either," the leader of the UDF emphasized.
