Heavy rainfall caused floods in Petrich Municipality, BGNES reports.

The situation is being complicated by the continuing rain. An orange code has been declared for the area.

In the city itself, 75 liters of rain per square meter fell in about five hours. The rainfall is expected to continue until about 5:00 p.m. today.

Municipal emergency teams are visiting critical places, known in similar situations as problematic.

The station in the village of Klyuch reported 40 liters, and at the Belasica hut “Kongur” the amount is 86 liters.

In the lower part of the municipality, the water in the rivers is at high levels. This is visible in photos and videos posted on social networks.

The actions are being coordinated with all other institutions that support the work of local authorities in emergencies.

At the moment, there is no damage or flooded properties, NOVA learned.
