For the fifth time since the beginning of 2026, the mayor of the Ardino municipality, Eng. Izet Shaban, has declared a partial state of emergency due to the heavy rainfall since February 15, dariknews.bg reported.
The reason is again the increased water level of the Arda River, which for the fifth time this year is flooding the reinforced concrete bridge of the republican road network in the area of the village of Kitnitsa.
The facility has become impassable and is once again cutting off the only transport connection for residents of six settlements – Rusalsko, Lyubino, Latinka, Avramovo, Pesnopoy and Spoluka.
The measure covers part of the territory of the municipality and is aimed at ensuring the safety of the population.
By order of the mayor, the movement and residence of motor vehicles in the designated critical areas is prohibited until the situation normalizes.
