Maya Manolova: While some are wondering how to pay their bills, MPs will receive 9% higher salaries

The salary of a member of parliament will now start at 4,464 euros or nearly 9,000 leva

While some are wondering how to pay their electricity bill, MPs will welcome next month with 9% higher salaries. This is what the chairwoman of the civic platform "Stand Up.BG" Maya Manolova writes.

"The salary of a member of parliament will now start at 4,464 euros or nearly 9,000 leva. And when you add the participation in committees, the 1% allowance for each year of service, the unaccounted 2/3 of the basic salary for associates, in the end, a member of parliament will quite easily collect over 10 thousand euros per month.

And there is clearly a reason - they did not miss the opportunity to harm citizens, to neglect their problems, to serve their sponsors and to protect only their interests.

By the way, even when they go on a pre-election vacation, they will receive their high salaries," Manolova also writes.

"Therefore, in the remaining weeks of this parliament, I strongly advise them to adopt the “Anti-speculation" Law for price control, instead of asking incompetent ministers why the cost of living has increased.

Otherwise, when they go around the country to agitate, they will be met with stones," the former ombudsman claims.
