When Borisov came to power, some of the heads of the power groups who did not accept the new order were eliminated - physically or economically. Others were “convinced“ that it was time to change their tracksuits for suits. To stop the ostentatious racketeering and car thefts - at least in their old, crude format - and enter the institutions. They received concessions for garbage, beaches, parking lots. Access to banks, insurers, public procurement. Some became deputies, ministers, mayors. The underground is institutionalized. And they calmed down.

This model works only under one condition - there is a prospect of power, and through power - of resources, because a large part of their businesses are not market-provable, but require constant new orders and a connection to a public resource.
Today, this prospect seems shaky. If in the next parliament Borisov and Peevski do not have enough deputies to guarantee control over public flows and regulators, the whole mechanism will start to creak. And when access to resources is in question, I would return to the "bukalki".

History shows something simple - when Borisov and Peevski sink in terms of information, when they cease to be at the center of public debate, this rarely means weakness. More often it means that they are acting through other channels. Quietly. Insidiously. Without taking direct responsibility.
Fear is a tool.
Panic is a tool.
A show of force is a tool. In the unscrupulous battle for power at any cost.
But there is something else - society is already tired of this cycle. And the more obvious the mechanism becomes, the harder it is to sell it as a “coincidence“.
I forgot - some scumbags from the street who commit crimes cannot be investigated by other scumbags who are in the institutions.
It's not complicated. The question is whether people will recognize the pattern in time.
