The topic of the tragedy near “Petrohan“ and the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Deyan Iliev continues to raise many questions.
On the air of “Your Day“ on NOVA NEWS, journalists Viktor Ivanov from “24 Chasa“ and Silvia Velikova from the Bulgarian National Radio commented on the latest developments and doubts in the case.
“We have absolutely certain information that Ivaylo Kalushev was registered as a secret agent of the National Security Agency,” Ivanov said. According to him, Kalushev's father was also part of the security system – agent of the National Security Service, the direct predecessor of the State Security Service.
Ivanov also indicated that attempts have been made to verify allegations of possible links to drug trafficking in Mexico, but so far no such links have been established. He described the content of the entries in Kalushev's notebooks as strange.

„They contain both advice to students and notes on nutrition, as well as notes related to the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and the possible privatization of „Toplofikatsiya“,“ the journalist commented.

According to him, it is not ruled out that Deyan Iliev and his girlfriend are alive. Ivanov noted that the young woman's profile was edited after the middle of last week, from where information was obtained about a house in Mexico that the two were renting out.

“It is possible that Deyan fulfilled Ivaylo Kalushev's order and returned to Mexico“, he also said.
The journalist expressed hope that clear answers would be obtained about the role of SANS in the case. According to him, there is evidence that there was “some kind of sect“, and each new piece of information raises more questions.

“The shocking thing is that each answer raises ten new questions, which reinforces the feeling in society that something is being hidden, emphasized Ivanov.
For her part, Silvia Velikova stated that the tragedy near “Petrohan“ has been used politically, given that it has not yet been clarified how exactly the six people died and expert reports are awaited. She described the sending of the materials on the case to the National Assembly as scandalous.

„I am shocked by the arrogant behavior of a large part of the politicians and the way in which they are using this tragedy politically“, said Velikova. She emphasized that for two weeks almost no attention was paid to the relatives of the deceased.

"I do not think that as a society we have coped with this great tragedy,“, she added.

According to the journalist from the Bulgarian National Radio, the topic will be among the priorities of the new caretaker government. According to her, the president assigns the caretaker prime minister the task of establishing everything in the case, and the interior minister is expected to repeat the investigative actions.
