Even if there is someone from the BSP in the caretaker cabinet, he will be in a personal capacity, BSP Chairman Krum Zarkov told BTV in response to a question whether there will be people from the party in the caretaker cabinet. I am not informed about such a thing, Zarkov also indicated and added that he is looking forward to tomorrow's cabinet with interest.
„Political forces have a major role in the main mission of the caretaker cabinet to ensure fair elections. We should not forget that the cabinet has its own responsibilities, but the main ones are those of the participants in them“, Zarkov pointed out.
According to him, the choice of the president as acting prime minister Iliana Yotova is adequate. “With the choice of Andrey Gyurov, she positioned herself very clearly along the main issue that divides Bulgarian society in all its structures – for and against a model, embodied by a dominance that has held the parliamentary majority in the last year, and Gyurov was not elected by this dominance. Yotova practically had nothing else to do“, the BSP chairman pointed out.
When asked whether there is a place in the party for people who have allowed a coalition with GERB and “DPS – New beginning“, Zarkov said that “every socialist has a place in the party, but they have no place in the leadership structures and the leadership and deputy lists“.
Asked whether the BSP would support the president's veto on the changes to the Electoral Code, Zarkov commented that the last time 10 people from the BSP group supported the changes. I hope there are much fewer, he said. “GERB, “There is such a people“ and “Vazrazhdane“, which support the law, are looking for six votes. I hope they won't find them with us, but I can't guarantee it“, Zarkov said.
