A fisherman who knew the missing crew of the ship that disappeared in the sea area of Sozopol explained to bTV that the captain is very experienced, and the vessel was in distress.
A rescue operation is underway to search for a fishing vessel in the sea area of Sozopol. Early this morning the vessel disappeared from the radars.
„We know Captain Hristo Spasov very well. He is the captain of ship VN8212, a long-time captain with great experience, a professional. According to our information, the ship was in distress and at 8:30 a.m. he reported a signal to the Border Police, IARA. At 8:40 I think a boat was sent to the border. When they arrived, nothing was found from the ship, nor was there any scattered debris, absolutely nothing. Our request was to send a helicopter or night vision drones, so that if Captain Spasov managed to open the life raft in some way - to find the place,“ said fisherman Georgi Yanchev.
The last signal from it was detected northeast of Cape Korakya - between Sozopol and Primorsko, to the mouth of the Ropotamo River. There are three people on board the ship. Boats of the "Maritime Administration" and border police joined the operation.
