“Psychiatrists have not only taken the Hippocratic oath - they are one of the most intelligent parts of the medical profession. We owe them not control by NGOs, but better working conditions and hence - better conditions for the treatment of their patients.” This was stated by the MP from BSP-UNITED LEFT Dr. Desislav Taskov from the parliamentary rostrum.

He emphasized that it is necessary to provide greater opportunities not only to psychiatric departments and clinics at large hospitals, but also to state psychiatric hospitals, including for child psychiatry. “If the three clinical pathways developed by the National Board of Child Psychiatry were evaluated, then both control and working and treatment conditions would increase, including with the entry of the private sector”, pointed out Dr. Taskov.

The left-wing MP recalled that the mentally ill are the only group of patients who do not know that they are ill. “Mobilization is often necessary, which is cruel for any normal person, but is important for them to be protected from suicide attempts, self-harm or anything else that threatens their life, as well as that of the staff”, he pointed out.
