The presidential institution will be a corrective to the new cabinet. This was stated by President Iliana Yotova immediately after the swearing-in of the 106th cabinet in the National Assembly.

"I cannot have any remarks, because the cabinet is not my choice. I nominated Andrey Gyurov as acting Prime Minister. From then on, he held interviews with all the people you saw. He focused on them. In turn, they declared that they would work for the interests of Bulgaria," she pointed out.

According to her, the Prime Minister made seven promises from the parliamentary rostrum in his speech after the oath. "This helped me a lot, because we will strictly monitor the implementation of these seven points. On the very first day, I stated that the presidential institution would be corrective in the implementation of these promises, because the requests were very serious. I liked the emphasis on the depoliticization of the cabinet - I hope they keep it. Everything is transparent in Bulgaria. We will very quickly feel whether what was stated will become a fact", the head of state emphasized.

She emphasized again that she cannot be responsible for each minister if she personally did not raise it.

"I have certain reservations about some of the ministers. I will monitor whether I can prove these reservations for myself. The moment I see that they are justified - you - the media - will learn," Yotova emphasized.

She also commented on the veto she imposed on the "Electoral Code" . "I presented my legal reasons because I believe - both I and our legal team - that there is a discrepancy with the Constitution. I have also expressed my personal opinion that we should give all Bulgarians abroad, regardless of where they live, the opportunity to exercise their right to vote. I believe and continue to believe in the separation of powers. This is the responsibility, conscience and decision of the National Assembly," the head of state is categorical.
