The three main priorities of the Ministry of Finance within the caretaker government are financially securing the elections, extending the budget law, and fairly distributing the funds provided for the municipalities. This was stated by the Minister of Finance in the caretaker government, Georgi Klisurski, at a ceremony for the handover and acceptance of the post in the building of the Ministry of Finance in Sofia.

According to him, next week the Council of Ministers will adopt the budget plan for the elections scheduled for April 19, and the ministry will have the commitment to financially secure their holding.

Klisurski pointed out that another priority is the submission of a second extension law for the budget, since the current one expires on March 31, which will ensure the normal functioning of the state and all payments after that date.

The third priority is the unblocking of all payments to municipalities under the National Investment Program, where there are registered delays, it became known from Klisurski's words. He specified that within the framework of the extension law on the budget, there is a resource of about 460 million euros, which are available and should reach the municipalities that meet the legal requirements.

"We will work professionally, as always, calmly and convincingly in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Bulgaria", said Klisurski.

The caretaker minister expressed gratitude to the previous Minister of Finance Temenuzhka Petkova for the work done over the past year.

"The most important thing that I want to highlight and for which I want to thank and congratulate her and the team is the successful introduction of the single European currency, the euro. As you can see in January and to this day in February, the transition to the euro has been extremely smooth, and this is a wonderful success for Bulgaria and for generations of Bulgarians", said Klisurski.
