Traycho Traykov: Ivan Geshov's house in Sofia will not be sold

After collecting and reviewing all relevant documents, the working group came to the conclusion that the property is actually municipal by law and letters have been sent to the private enforcement agent to terminate the public sale

The house of the former Prime Minister, Speaker of the National Assembly and first governor of the Bulgarian National Bank Ivan Geshov in Sofia will not be sold. The news was announced by the district mayor of “Sredets“ Traycho Trayko, who was sworn in as Acting Minister of Energy today.

"After collecting and reviewing all relevant documents, the working group came to the conclusion that the property is actually municipal by law and letters have been sent to the private enforcement agent to terminate the public sale", Traykov announced before officially assuming the ministerial post.

We recall that Geshov's house was announced for public sale by a private enforcement agent with a starting price of 3,697,247.72 euros. The deadline for the announcement expires at 5:00 p.m. today, and the opening of the bids and the announcement of the buyer are scheduled for tomorrow - February 20 at the Sofia District Court.

However, this will not happen.

"I am convinced that Mayor Vasil Terziev will make the most correct decision in the situation", Traycho Traykov also stated.
