Ahmed Dogan's APS wants to campaign in the mother tongue during the election campaign

It is not a good sign for democracy when public policies treat linguistic diversity as a problem, not as a resource

On the eve of the upcoming election campaign, the parliamentary group of Ahmed Dogan's Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (APS) requested, although not directly, to campaign in the mother tongue within the framework of the election campaign for the early parliamentary elections, which have already become clear that they will be held on April 19.

The declaration from the rostrum of the National Assembly was read by APS MP Jeyhan Ibryamov regarding the International Mother Language Day, news.bg reported. What is curious about the declaration is that it occurs at the end of the life of the 51st National Assembly and at a time when the date of the early elections is already clear.

In the declaration, Ibryamov stated that it is not a good sign for democracy when public policies treat linguistic diversity as a problem, not as a resource, including when regulatory texts limit and sanction the use of the mother tongue in public life.
