A complaint has been filed with the Administrative Court of Sofia - District by Emil Koshlukov against the decision of the Council for Electronic Media (CEM), by which Milena Milotinova was elected Director General of the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

This was announced by the Administrative Court on its official website.

The complaint incorporates a request to suspend the implementation of the appealed decision, the court explained. A case has been initiated on the complaint and a rapporteur from the court panel has been randomly assigned, the announcement also says.

Earlier today, the Council for Electronic Media elected Milena Milotinova as Director General of the Bulgarian National Television. Simona Veleva - Chairwoman of the CEM, and members Kudrinka Kudrinkova and Gabriela Naplatanova voted for her. Galina Georgieva and Prolet Velkova voted against.

The procedure for selecting the Director General of BNT was frozen last year due to a court case that ended on February 13 of this year with a decision of the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC), which invalidated a ruling of the Administrative Court Sofia - District to suspend the implementation of the decision of the CEM on the selection of the Director General of BNT. At the same meeting, the members of the CEM admitted all of them to the second stage - consideration of the concepts and documents of the candidates. They decided that the next stage would be on February 19, and on February 20, the selected candidate would be announced.

In November last year, the Administrative Court Sofia - District suspended the new procedure for selecting the Director General. Five candidates submitted documents for the position of Director General of the Bulgarian National Television to the Council for Electronic Media. These are Svilena Dimitrova, Emil Koshlukov, Sasho Yovkov, Nevena Andonova and Milena Milotinova. The new director general of the public television was expected to be elected on October 16, but the procedure was frozen.
