Sergey Stanishev: BSP is in mortal danger

Without the left in parliament, it cannot do it, for the country and for the people

BSP - "United Left" has undergone a number of upheavals and the formation needs to build clear motives and priorities. According to the former prime minister and leader of the party, Sergey Stanishev, it must mobilize, preserve its modern left and its social base, without becoming tied to other political projects.

„We all understand that BSP is in mortal danger. Without the left in parliament, it cannot do it, for the country and for the people“, he pointed out on the air of "Sabû se".

Stanishev assured that he would actively participate in political life to support BSP, but did not specify specifically how. „BSP will not be assigned to anyone. It must have its own physiognomy, clear goals and priorities in order to have a future“, he concluded.

“When a person passes through a certain hierarchy, he proves himself in action. Now many people in official offices come without political experience, which ultimately turns into a boomerang for society“, Stanishev commented regarding the resignation of the acting Deputy Prime Minister for Fair Elections Stoil Tsitselkov just a day after his oath.

He added that the Gyurov cabinet is an “orphan cabinet“ and will be strictly monitored, with its actions expected to be evaluated by the public and political opponents.
