670 snowplows are clearing the roads on the republican roads. The roads are being cleared to ensure passability in winter conditions. Snow continues to fall almost all over the country. Work continues to ensure travel safety.

Due to heavy snowfall and clearing, traffic on some roads has been temporarily restricted. In Northwestern Bulgaria - in the Montana region, the stretch of road I-1 Vidin - Montana - Vratsa is completely closed to all types of vehicles. In the Vidin and Vratsa regions, the passage of vehicles over 12 tons in the direction of Montana is restricted.

To increase safety and if necessary, it is possible to close individual sections for processing sections with inert materials. Where necessary due to strong winds, snow drifts or poor visibility, traffic may be temporarily restricted until weather conditions improve and the road is cleared.

The "Road Infrastructure" Agency appeals to drivers to drive in vehicles prepared for winter conditions, to drive at a speed appropriate to winter conditions, not to undertake risky maneuvers, as well as to overtake snow removal equipment. Blocking traffic by vehicles that are not prepared for winter conditions makes it difficult for all other drivers to travel and the work of snow removal equipment.

The snowfall in Sofia also caused problems with movement, FOCUS reported.

Buses and trolleybuses got stuck on the uncleaned streets in the morning, passengers had to push the vehicles to get out of the slush. Over 100 snowplows joined the snow removal on the capital's streets.

In a few hours, the morning snowfall formed a snow cover in Sofia. While the snowplows were out, several problematic situations occurred. The passengers of bus 120, instead of in the vehicle, ended up behind it, pushing it along the uncleaned "Cherkovna" street.

The situation with the trolleybuses in the center was similar.

By 6 p.m., the snow cover in Sofia reached 10 cm, NOVA reported.

The data is from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. As of 6 p.m., 81 snowplows were on standby in the field. The cleaning of streets and boulevards in the city continued throughout the day. Anti-icing mixtures were applied on all public transport routes, as well as on the Southern Arc of the Ring Road.

After the snowfall intensity decreased, treatments began on main streets in the regions, as well as partially on the intra-neighborhood street network. Public transport is operating on all its routes, despite the complicated situation in the hours before noon. From 12:30 p.m., the movement of bus line 66 to Vitosha Mountain was restored, with all three bus lines 61, 63 and 66 serving their regular routes. The two roads in the “Vitosha“ Nature Park – – – – Dragalevtsi – Aleko“ and – Boyana – Zlatnite Mostove m. – are sanded and passable in winter conditions.

Mechanized cleaning of the bike paths with small-sized equipment, as well as the park alleys, has begun. Sidewalks, approaches to underpasses and walkways are also being cleaned. Many owners of cooperatives, residential and commercial properties came out to clean the adjacent spaces in front of their respective buildings.
