The Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Transport and Communications, the Minister of Defense and the Executive Director of “Sofia Airport" EAD owe the Bulgarian people an explanation as to why, in times of tension in the Middle East, US military planes are allowed to stay at a civilian airport in our country.
It will also be temporarily closed for civilian purposes on February 23 and 24, which is an unacceptable precedent for a sovereign state. This is what the "Vazrazhdane" PP believes.
"The government has given permission for the deployment of US military planes in Sofia without consulting the parliament. According to media reports, the airport has 9 military tanker aircraft KS-135, three C-17 and several Boeing-747, as well as an American military transport C-130 Hercules, intended for the landing of troops and equipment in land operations, arriving directly from the Ramstein base in Germany.
The presence of this aircraft, as well as the fact of its admission, raises concerns, worries and questions throughout Bulgarian society. The government is obliged to provide answers to the Bulgarian people.
“Vazrazhdane” is categorically against turning Bulgaria into a bridgehead for yet another foreign war. Public concerns are completely justified and they are reinforced by the fact that no other neighboring country has provided an airport to the Americans. Turkey is a close ally of the US, but the Turks have probably denied Washington their airport in Istanbul! Romania, which has one of the largest NATO bases in Europe, does not give permission for the use of its airports! The Greeks have also refused to allow American military aircraft to use their airports!
Tehran has issued an official warning that any country that provides its territory to support aggression against Iran will be considered a legitimate target.
Obviously, we are ruled by national traitors of both “Dondukov" 1 and “Dondukov" 2. All former and current rulers are trading with our country and the future of our children. We want answers, because the Bulgarian land has no sons who would shed their blood for foreign wars, no children who would die in them. We expect immediate answers from the government and measures to remove American aircraft from Bulgarian territory. "If this does not happen immediately, we call on all Bulgarian citizens to mass protests," the position of "Vazrazhdane" also states.
