The EU is firmly determined to oppose this disinformation wave, which is not easy in the age of social networks. This was commented by the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynsky. She is in Brussels, where she will talk to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, BNT reported.

It became clear from her words that the meeting was intense and dynamic. The topic of hybrid attacks and disinformation was seriously discussed. A topic on which Bulgaria has a lot to say, she noted.

„For us, the topic of hybrid attacks is extremely important, especially in the context of the upcoming parliamentary elections. Because attempts to present fake news are something that destabilizes the enlargement process. An attempt is being made to weaken aid to Ukraine, most importantly - disinformation aims to instill fear among people. The point of disinformation is to scare people. When there is fear, then the pressure to make sensible decisions is great," Neynsky commented.

According to her, the Council of Foreign Ministers discussed joint actions against hybrid warfare and disinformation.
