Krum Zarkov: The BSP lobbies have been controlled to the point that they can no longer make harmful decisions

I was not elected by any lobby. I was elected by BSP supporters throughout the country and this gives me the freedom to pursue the policy that was approved at the BSP Congress

The BSP lobbies have been controlled to the point that they can no longer make harmful decisions. I was not elected by any lobby. I was elected by BSP supporters throughout the country and this gives me the freedom to pursue the policy that was approved at the BSP Congress. The assessment of the old leadership was given to the Congress by the current sociological surveys. In my opinion, there is no need to point fingers and look for culprits. Yes, mistakes were made and now the goal is to correct them and not make them again.

This was stated on the show "From the Day" on BNT the new leader of the BSP Krum Zarkov.

"Peevski's influence in the BSP has also been removed. Regarding Sergey Stanishev, who became a member of the party's Executive Bureau, his story is not only the proposal for Peevski to become the head of the National Security Agency. We must use his experience and knowledge. There are also many young people in the Executive Bureau. One of our goals is for the BSP to become a truly left-wing party that takes care of millions of working people. The left is building systems of solidarity, not handing out money from the budget that you borrowed. The last budget was not left-wing. The last budget was arrogant and tried to buy people and that is exactly what made them take to the streets," he revealed.

"Every left-wing person will have a place in the ranks of the BSP. I will try to unite all the voices in the party. I was part of the election of President Rumen Radev and then part of his team in the presidency. We have a common goal with him - the dismantling of the political-oligarchic model. This is a good basis for cooperation. We also have differences - the tax system. And we still do not know exactly what Radev's party thinks on many issues. We certainly have another common goal - the rule of law. The BSP can cooperate with many parties, but it will never again be associated and subordinated", Zarkov was categorical.

"Two weeks ago, sociologists were sure that the BSP would not enter parliament. Today we are on the brink. In another two weeks we will be far over the brink. I am convinced of this. The only deadly threat to the BSP is that it does not accept the challenges. We must convince people that we have understood our mistakes and will correct them, but more importantly, we must convince them that there is a point in us. I will take full responsibility for what happens with the BSP in the future, including the election results. From the very beginning, the BSP group was divided over the changes to the Electoral Code. I am convinced that this law should not come into force. I have expressed my opinion to the parliamentary group and I hope to be heard. GERB, ITN and "Vazrazhdane" have 115 votes and are looking for 6 votes to overcome the president's veto. I will do everything possible to ensure that these votes do not come from the BSP", announced the BSP leader.

"I know Emil Dechev. He is an honest and respectable person. The Ministry of Interior has a major role in the fairness of the elections, but we should not remove the responsibility for the elections from the parties, because in order for someone to sell their vote, a party must buy it from them. Currently, Borislav Sarafov is an illegal prosecutor general and the new minister Andrey Yankulov is making the right and adequate decision. Whether it will succeed remains to be seen, because the members of the Prosecutorial College in the Supreme Judicial Council are unpredictable," Zarkov also said.

"The war in Ukraine must end. History shows that armament only leads to new wars," concluded Krum Zarkov.
