I am in hospital. I have notified the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior and the Director of "Human Resources" of the Ministry of Interior. This was stated to NOVA by Deputy Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Yavor Serafimov.
The former Director of the Directorate General of the Interior and current Deputy Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior made this clarification in connection with the appeal of the Minister of Interior to the media this evening.
At a briefing at the Council of Ministers, Emil Dechev called on Bulgarian citizens to help in the search for Deputy Chief Secretary Yavor Serafimov. "After I had a conversation with him on Friday night and told him that we had to part ways, he promised to tell me what he had decided on Monday morning. I was expecting Serafimov, but he did not come. He did not answer my numerous phone calls," the acting minister explained.
We recall that Chief Commissioner Serafimov took office on January 28 of this year. He has been an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 1999, having held various executive and managerial positions in the system, including deputy director and director of the General Directorate of the National Police. From May 2025 to the present, he has been deputy director of the General Directorate of the National Police. He has been repeatedly awarded for high professional results.
