The GERB-SDF coalition has submitted documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) for registration to participate in the early parliamentary elections on April 19 this year.
"We are entering this next campaign from the spiral of elections we have been in in recent years, with calmness and self-confidence", said former Prime Minister and current MP Rosen Zhelyazkov, who together with MPs Delyan Dobrev and Rumen Hristov (Chairman of the UDF) and GERB's administrative secretary Tsvetomir Paunov submitted documents for registration of the GERB-SDF coalition to the CEC. With calm, because we have achieved a lot in all the formats in which we have governed, and with self-confidence, because 2025 was an extremely successful year for the Bulgarian economy, for Bulgarian finances, and for all the priorities that were set and implemented, as we outlined them back in January last year, added Zhelyazkov.
As the consuls in ancient Rome said - – – – – – "I did what I could, whoever can, let him do more," said the former prime minister. In this campaign, we will not only emphasize the successes we have achieved, we will also outline the construction that is yet to be done in Bulgaria, because what has been achieved must be built upon in terms of the trust of international institutions, and in terms of the opportunities before the Bulgarian economy, and in terms of increasing competitiveness, and in terms of commitments to the partnerships and alliances in which we participate, said Zhelyazkov.
He pointed out that the GERB-SDF coalition will once again appear in this format in the elections and will fight for the best result. We have submitted 9,999 signatures, this is a small part of the 43,000 signatures that we have collected so far, but that is all we could carry with Mr. Dobrev, said Zhelyazkov.
