Yotova announces after the elections whether she will run for president

This will be decided by the people and when the national elections are over, and when I see that I enjoy the trust of the people and that they appreciate my work, then I will decide

President Iliana Yotova said that after the early parliamentary elections on April 19, she will make a decision whether she will join the battle for a new term in the presidential elections in the fall.

"This will be decided by the people and when the national elections are over, and when I see that I enjoy the trust of the people and that they appreciate my work, then I will decide", Iliana Yotova told journalists. She participated in the ceremony announcing the results of the 68th "Athlete of the Year" poll.

The prize for the second year in a row was won by Carlos Nasar. Volleyball player Alexander Nikolov remained in second place, and skier Albert Popov was third. The head of state congratulated the Bulgarian athletes.

"In recent years, they have made us truly happy, they have made us proud Bulgarians. They have made us believe again that Bulgarian sport is not lost. They have made their colleagues from different countries around the world talk about Bulgarian sport; foreign coaches have started watching their performances to learn or at least see mistakes and good points with which to teach their own athletes. Young people from all over the world imitate them. What could be better than that? What we all have to do is create conditions for them," said Yotova.

The president added that sport should be a priority for the new regular government.
