Vasil Terziev approved the key projects of the Sofia Municipality and created a "Strategic Projects" department within the new organizational structure. The unit will manage, coordinate and monitor the implementation of the key initiatives that determine the long-term development of the capital.
Through it, the municipality will ensure better coordination between the individual directions, systematic control over progress and accountability to citizens. The goal is for the strategic projects to be implemented consistently, on time and with measurable results.
Among the approved strategic projects are:
„Vision for Vitosha“ - restoring residents' access to the mountain and building a modern, environmentally friendly infrastructure;
„City of Children: the first 7“ - preparation and implementation of a strategy for comprehensive care and support for every preschool child;
„The School - the Heart of the Neighborhood“ - improvement of schoolyards and their transformation into green spaces for sports, culture and education, as well as preparation of the school base for a single-shift training regime;
„Parking lots“ - preparation and implementation of a strategy for the construction of new parking lots at key locations and for their effective management;
„Mineral waters“ - development of a concept for the revitalization and sustainable management of the thermal springs and mineral resources of Sofia;
„Green Ring“ - transforming disused territories in different neighborhoods and turning them into the largest linear park in the city.
These projects outline the vision of the Sofia Municipality for a dynamic, modern and sustainable development of Sofia - a city that develops nature, culture and innovation as a resource for a better quality of life. The new unit will work to make this vision a reality through targeted coordination and systematic support for the implementation of each project.
