Rumen Radev registered with the Central Election Commission minutes before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, the Central Election Commission announced.
The coalition is called "Progressive Bulgaria", represented by Galab Donev and Dimitar Stoyanov.
It includes three formations: PP Social Democrats, PP Social Democratic Party and PP Our People Movement.
Galab Donev was the acting Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Policy in several acting governments. From August 2, 2022 to June 6, 2023, Galab Donev served as the caretaker Prime Minister of Bulgaria, leading two consecutive caretaker governments appointed by President Rumen Radev. His governments governed the country during a political crisis and preparations for early parliamentary elections.
Dimitar Stoyanov is best known for his position as Minister of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria. He held this position in two consecutive caretaker governments, led by Galab Donev, in the period from August 2022 to June 2023. Before his appointment as Minister, Stoyanov has many years of professional experience in the system of the Ministry of Defense. He has held various administrative and managerial positions, including Chief of Staff to several Ministers of Defense. He was also Director of a Directorate and Secretary of the Ministry. He graduated from the Military Academy “G. S. Rakovski“.
