Kozloduy NPP Unit Six has been shut down to replace the safety membrane devices on the steam superheater separators of the turbine located in the conventional, non-nuclear part of the unit. The nuclear power plant announced this on its official website and added that the shutdown was carried out on March 3, BNT reports.
The new devices that will be installed are made of materials similar to the original ones. Tests conducted in independent laboratories prove that the materials used are of the required quality. After the planned repair activities, Unit Six will be included in the country's energy system. Unit Five is operating on schedule. Its load is 1,048 megawatts, as can be seen on the nuclear power plant's website.
