Whatever happens in the present, no one should forget the past

For the liberation of the city of Pleven in the Russo-Turkish Liberation War, over 30 thousand people died for the city of Pleven alone - mainly Russians, but also quite a few Romanians, Finns, Ukrainians and Belarusians. Over 30 thousand human destinies - mainly young people, mowed down and killed in the name of the freedom of my hometown. So, when I say "over 30,000", it sounds like a statistic, but each life individually is a personal tragedy. This is what the leader of "There is such a people" Slavi Trifonov wrote on his Facebook profile.

"A tribute and gratitude to all these human beings who died for our freedom. In this particular case - for mine. I am proud to have been born in the city of Pleven, and I am grateful to fate that I was born in the city of Pleven, a hero city that lies on the blood of heroes," Trifonov also writes.

"I probably sound a little too patriotic, but today even the words I use are weak. That's right - I am a free man, a free citizen of a free state, thanks to the sacrifice of these people. I have not forgotten it. I will not forget it. And no one should forget it. Whatever happens in the present, no one should forget the past. Because otherwise we will be orphans and ungrateful. We must remember! Happy national holiday to all free Bulgarians!", adds Slavi Trifonov.
