A 33-year-old man from Varna was detained for hooliganism on the road after firing a gun while driving, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Shumen announced.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m. last night, in the area of the village of Struyno, the driver of a passenger car “Renault Megan“ with a Varna registration bothered another driver – of a passenger car “Hyundai“, also with a Varna registration. According to police data, he flashed his headlights, honked his horn and performed actions that obstructed his movement, after which he fired shots with a pistol.
The signal was submitted to the 112 telephone number. An organization was immediately created to identify the perpetrator, with teams of the “Traffic Police“ and the Shumen Police Department being directed along several roads. A little later, the car was located.
During the inspection, the pistol was found and seized. The 33-year-old driver was questioned and detained for up to 24 hours at the Shumen police station. The driver of the “Hyundai“ was also questioned, and statements were taken from witnesses.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case for a crime under Art. 325, para. 3, in connection with para. 1 of the Criminal Code.
