Assoc. Prof. Ivo Indjov: People at this stage see Radev not as a savior, but as a negation of the current political model

Certainly many more people will vote compared to the last elections in 2024, but there will be no overflow of the protest energy into a very high electoral turnout. The readiness to protest and the readiness to vote should not be confused, the political scientist commented

"The results confirm the trends from previous surveys. Not all gave such a convincing lead to Radev's formation, but the common thing - that Radev is leading, without having announced a program, who the key figures will be, shows only one thing: that he enjoys a very large initial credit of trust."

This opinion was expressed in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio by political scientist Assoc. Prof. Ivo Indjov, after "Alpha Research" announced a survey on electoral attitudes.

Radev is not involved in corruption schemes and scandals and people at this stage see him not so much as a savior, but as a negation of the current political model. As a person different from the political caste that governs Bulgaria, the political scientist pointed out among the arguments for the clear lead.

Certainly many more people will vote compared to the last elections in 2024, but there will be no overflow of protest energy into very high electoral activity. The readiness to protest and the readiness to vote should not be confused, commented Assoc. Prof. Indjov.

"The active protesting minority is different from the silent majority throughout the country."

In the program "Something More" he noted that "we cannot expect miracles from the caretaker government" and it "must refrain from revanchist actions in one direction or another".

It is right to change the heads of the regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior, however, believes the political scientist.

Ivo Indzhov does not expect "something grandiose to happen in terms of impact" on the elections due to the "Petrokhan" case and the war in the Middle East. According to him, the Petrokhan topic is slowly dying down, and Iran will not mobilize so many people "who are against the war and the Americans".
