We are talking about a very dirty and muddy war, whose main target is me. This was said in an interview with “Face to Face” by the acting Minister of Agriculture Ivan Hristanov, quoted by novini.bg. His comment came after the action of deputies from “There are such people” in the Ministry of Agriculture. Slavi Trifonov's party claims that Dr. Angel Mavrovski was removed from the register as a veterinarian, and an assistant to Hristanov was arrested with drugs in 2005.
In a summary, the minister defined this as "revanchism" and "slander", respectively.
"They are creating a commotion. People are on Validol after them. This is not a joke, but an outright sabotage of statehood and institutional behavior,", stressed Hristanov.
And he answered both accusations in detail:
"These are the same ones who put Patso Shnorkhela as prime minister. Regarding Mr. Mavrovski - I don't know from which register he was removed. There is one specific repression with him. After private conversations with the industry unions, it turns out that he is not the only case in which repression is exercised by specific regional food safety directorates. Some people simply want to do their job conscientiously and accordingly become the object of repression. 2022 was the battle for “Captain Andreevo”. Immediately after the "Petkov" cabinet fell in 2022, Mavrovski was subjected to brutal repression and for two years he could not find a job, after which these attacks began - practically taking away his livelihood. Two weeks before I became minister, by some very strange coincidence, officials from the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency called Mr. Mavrovski's relatives and friends, broke their hands and said that they must have made a mistake in “hitting” him like that, by offering him to go to Brussels, because the position of veterinary attaché was vacant there. That is, it is obvious that these people who have repressed him so far, probably worried about me becoming a minister, are afraid of some kind of revenge, which is not in my nature, and are starting to try to buy some indulgence by sending him to Brussels. We have another concrete proof that this was a severe revenge with which to destroy the person and discredit him. Mr. Mavrovski was down at “Kapitan Andreevo” for almost 2 months, so that we could control the traffic and so that the state bodies that were thrown out could”, commented Ivan Hristanov.
He responded to the accusations against his assistant in the following way: “Let's realize that what I can ask for is a criminal record certificate. I asked for it - it's clean. She herself said that if it interferes, she will leave. How can I be sure that what the gentlemen themselves say is true? There are legal ways in which I can get to one or another piece of information. Obviously, they obtained it in an unregulated manner. I work with it. I see absolutely no signs of these slanders. There are no leaked photos taken with artificial intelligence that were exposed”.
“We were prepared that this would happen. That's why everything I touch, I touch as if it were a scorpion or a loaded bomb. They are trying to discredit a sitting minister”, the politician summed up.
