Ivan Shishkov: The current caretaker cabinets, after the changes to the Constitution, are more party-based than expert-based

The previous regular cabinet did not tell the truth about the price of water, just as it did not tell the truth about the Hemus Motorway, commented the former caretaker regional minister

President Radev will say which people will be on his lists. I have clearly stated that I would support Rumen Radev's party. I have been part of his caretaker cabinets and I can state that they were very professional. We had to do critical things in critical terms, because other politicians had not done their job. The current caretaker cabinets, after the changes to the Constitution, are more party-based than expert-based.
This was stated in the program "Denyat na Zievo" on NOVA NEWS by the former caretaker minister of regional development, arch. Ivan Shishkov, quoted by novini.bg.

"It is important that the minister is an expert and can work in the policy team. President Radev appointed experts in order to listen to their opinion. That's where the difference lies. None of the official cabinets from the house book can be attributed to the president, regardless of whether it is Radev's or Yotova's. There were very serious rumors that I would be a minister in the current cabinet. The goal was to show that everyone is on the same page and for voter turnout to fall again," he added.
"The problem with the price of water is the same as with roads. When a problem is not solved for a long time, this situation comes to pass. The previous regular cabinet did not tell the truth about the price of water, just as it did not tell the truth about the "Hemus" motorway. It is one thing to raise the price of water without making any improvements in the water supply network, it is quite another to raise the price and invest in the network or solve the water shortage in Pleven once and for all. Now everything is being solved piecemeal and campaign-based without having a single comprehensive infrastructure project. In the last 13 years, we have seen a very bad imitation of politics and this must change," concluded Ivan Shishkov.
