Apparently the situation with the "Gyurov" cabinet is shocking, since they are playing the "nuclear card" to divert attention," wrote on Facebook the chairman of the National Assembly Defense Committee Hristo Gadzhev (GERB-SDF). On the sidelines of the parliament today, the chairman of "Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria" - part of "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" - Atanas Atanasov, requested that the National Security Advisory Council be convened in connection with President Emmanuel Macron's initiative to expand France's nuclear umbrella to other European countries.

"The whole Mara has gone mad, so now they want to deploy nuclear weapons in Bulgaria," commented Gadzhev. According to him, France's new strategy was announced by President Macron a few days ago. At its core, it envisages an increase in the country's nuclear capacity and "front deterrence" by deploying nuclear forces in other countries for more effective deterrence. I think this will be unacceptable for Bulgaria, the chairman of the defense committee points out.

But the very idea of discussing this in a pre-election environment will have catastrophic consequences (at least for people's mental health), the publication concludes.

Commenting on the DSB proposal, the co-chairman of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev drew attention to the fact that the former ruling parties are boycotting the adoption of the so-called extended budget, and this creates a huge risk for the rearmament of the Bulgarian army.

Our only defense is NATO, the chairman of the "There are such people" PG Toshko Yordanov commented on the DSB idea. He asked if a nuclear umbrella wouldn't make us a potential target.
