The parliament is deciding today whether to appoint Karina Karaivanova as deputy governor of the BNB.
She was proposed for the position by the bank's governor Dimitar Radev.
Karaivanova was heard in the budget committee yesterday for less than 20 minutes. She is currently Bulgaria's representative in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). She was twice deputy finance minister in GERB governments, as well as chairwoman of the financial supervision committee, and then vacated the position early.
