Any action in the education system is reflected only after 12-15 years. The biggest policy in a country is the policy in the field of education – with good education we get good results in the other sore topic, namely health policy. This was stated by Prof. Sergey Ignatov, acting minister of education and science, to BNT, quoted by novini.bg.
„The acting cabinet has a short term of operation. The main goal is to hold fair and transparent elections. We have main goals – conducting the matriculation exams, the secondary education. About 200,000 Bulgarian children will be part of this process“, he emphasized.
Minister Ignatov noted the interaction with the Ministry of Interior for the conduct of the elections in the schools establishments.
„The Monday after the elections will be attended, but not taught, because we are marking 150 years of the April Uprising, not because of the elections“, the minister announced.
There are schools with good dialogue with parents, but there are also those where the scales are tipping. Currently, many families value quality education, this is a huge mass of people looking for it, which shows that the value system is coming into place. Families are doing scientific research to see where to send their children to study“, he also shared.
„450 schools have not reacted to the topic of banning phones in school. The drama with „Virtues and Religions“ is due to the way the question was posed. I am not convinced that a textbook on virtues will solve things“, he also said Ignatov.
About the inspection at the “Kosmos” school, the minister specified: “The people who lost their lives did not lose them on the school grounds. The work at the school is simple – the inspection showed that there is no documentary tracking of the presence of this student (15-year-old Alexander, ed.). In many places, such documentation is not maintained well, but we have not deregistered schools because of this.“
“Not everything is allowed in private schools – I know of one that prohibits students from painting their nails”, Professor Ignatov pointed out.
