Pavela Mitova: Complex bills should not be adopted if there is no political consensus

They should be cleared of potential errors and problems that may arise in the future, said the MP from "There is such a people"

Due to a non-consensus bill on renewable energy sources, we may lose 437 million euros under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan.

„The deadlines expire in August this year. No one said that we should hastily adopt legislation within a few days that is not cleared of potential errors and problems that may arise in the future“, said in „This Saturday“ the chairman of the Energy Committee and MP from „There is such a people“ Pavela Mitova.

„I am not a supporter of adopting such complex bills when there is no political consensus. This bill was controversial even when it was the regular government“, she explained.

“We had come to the conclusion that we would submit the bill and correct the problematic texts admitted between the first and second reading. When the regular cabinet fell, we from the Ministry of Internal Affairs warned that there were serious risks to some of the bills in the Recovery and Resilience Plan“, said Mitova.

According to her, five out of eight parliamentary groups are against the adoption of the bill in its current form.

“I have convened three extraordinary sessions and I cannot gather a quorum“, she specified.

“If we do not receive these funds now, this does not mean that we cannot receive them in the 52nd National Assembly, when there is a political consensus“, believes Pavela Mitova.
