We have a simple task, to show that it is possible to work in the name of the Bulgarians. This oath in the National Assembly that I gave - to work for the Constitution and the people, can be fulfilled, to return hope to the people and for them to go vote, said in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio, the acting Minister of Agriculture Ivan Hristanov.
"We have the right to hope, look at what we are doing and go vote, the more people vote, the more honest the political system will be. I have always believed in ideals, if we don't have ideals, then what are we living for?", asked the Minister of Agriculture.
In the program "Nedelya 150" he commented on the violations of the law in his entrusted ministry and its structures such as the Forestry Agency and the Bulgarian Anti-Fraud Agency. He also explained why he did not go to the hearing requested by deputies from a specific political force.
The National Assembly decided to hear Minister Hristanov, he refused due to a commitment, the ITN suggested that he be brought in with the police and dismissed by Yotova
"It was not exactly the deputies, but a specific parliamentary group that first wrote to President Yotova - "this minister should be dismissed". I suppose there were ministers who left him unemployed and with his feet on the desk. My schedule starts at 8 am and ends in the middle of the night. We had invited colleagues from all regional directorates, I will stay to work with them to resolve issues of food security, we are crossing channels and clearing the structure from organized crime groups. And to go to the National Assembly for a hearing, at the moment when the shock vote on the PVU is being held, so that the money is not lost", he also said.
According to Hristanov, the deputies wanted to watch a seir: "We released the letter, maybe they lied and Mrs. Nazaryan should have read it as a response. They did not call me. They wanted this on the podium instead of 2 - 3 minutes to be 2-3 hours, to do their seir. State and statehood means more work and less seir."
Minister Hristanov commented on his report on what has been done in 30 days and noted that he has been meeting with industry organizations from the very beginning. His and his team's task is the main problem: "When will we finally fight against counterfeit goods, expired food, stale goods, food of unclear origin. These are questions that society has been asking itself for decades and no one has found the courage to answer. How is the Bulgarian food industry the most compromised in Europe. On the 20th day, we stop smuggled trucks, uncover illegal slaughterhouses, what happened on Friday and yesterday - we uncovered a huge warehouse with expired food, of unknown origin and content and with signs returned from… - entered stores, returned from there and must be destroyed. And it goes to a warehouse in Haskovo and from there, repackaged and with an expiration date, it goes to small stores. The label says chilled chicken, but it was frozen," added Hristanov.
The lumps of butter were dumped, even without packaging - dumped, we are talking about hundreds of tons of food. I thank the Ministry of Interior for immediately reacting to the action and sending teams. Patrol cars are currently patrolling. The warehouse is sealed and on Monday we will continue to identify the owners. We have data on illegal slaughterhouses where waste is dumped into a flowing river. "
The Minister of Agriculture stated that "as long as the Constitution and the people have empowered me, we are guarantors that such crimes and outrages will not occur. This is not a promise." "The key to my work is that we create a commitment from others. This is the reality, we show it and repair it. If the next ministers do not follow this order, then they are playing with this mafia group that is doing all the frauds," Hristanov is convinced.
And he announced: "We also identified individuals, now on Friday, in the BFSA, who clearly, with their behavior, showed that they wanted specific atrocities to be protected. I will remove them next week. As they say, "watch the fireworks".
