In the program “120 minutes“ on bTV, the leader of the MECH party list in Plovdiv and 25 MIR in Sofia, Radostin Vassilev, and the former acting Minister of Regional Development in the first and second governments of Stefan Yanev, Violeta Komitova, presented the party's positions before the elections.

When asked why and what MECH is fighting for in these elections, Vassilev replied: “From the entire existence of MECH and from my participation in politics, I have fought most for justice and for the truth. Bulgarian society has a need to know the truth, to hear the truth, politics has an even greater need for the truth. This truth in Bulgaria must lead to a search for responsibility. Without seeking responsibility for what has happened for so many years, no one will receive the long-term support of the Bulgarian people. This is what we are fighting for - for truth, for justice and for us to be governed by people who put not their personal interests, not the business interests of their friends, but the public interest first.“

Vassilev explained why he changed his political direction before founding MECH: “The truth is that I did not change direction. I listened to Balabanov before me at your party. The truth is that Slavi Trifonov misled, lied and disappointed an awful lot of people. He is one of the reasons why people do not trust real change. The real change is that Peevski and Borisov are no longer in the government of Bulgaria. As the minister of “There are such people“ in Kiril Petkov's government at the time, I left and held a press conference in which I revealed the truth that the mafia is breaking through in ITN. And so far I have won these cases.“

Regarding the current situation, he stated: “The truth is currently being seen by all of you with the participation of “There is such a people“, with Peevski, with Borisov, hand in hand and with the fact that they are the spokesmen for Peevski and Borisova in the last parliament. I was insulted, I was called a traitor. How could they not slander me?“

On the topic of PP-DB, the assemblies and how the assemblies themselves differ, Vassilev said: “There is no difference. PP-DB and ITN are the main culprits from 2021 to 2026, people not trusting anyone and increasingly despairing and giving up on the political process altogether.“

On the question of how realistically the distribution of power in Bulgarian politics can change, Vassilev said: “There is only one option. It is not abstract, but real. This is to have a union of all other political entities, outside of Borisov, Peevski and Aliasa, I hope they will not be part of the next parliament, because I do not divide Peevski from Dogan in any form. To make this union and find common policies - anti-corruption, policies in favor of society, policies for price regulations. They did not do it.“

He criticized the behavior of other parties: “BSP and “There is such a people“ became part of one government and are shamefully running in the political channel. If “Vazrazhdane“ and PP-DB do not stop this opposition, their political existence becomes meaningless.“

Vassilev pointed out that MECH positions itself as a “centrist moderately conservative party that puts the Bulgarian national interest first.“

Violeta Komitova commented on the role of Rumen Radev: “For President Radev, on the very first day when he announced the beginning of his political career, we have an official post on Facebook from Mr. Radostin Vassilev that we can be partners with him if we fight against Borisov, Peevski and corruption. If these things happen, as we imagine them, yes, we can work in this direction.“

Regarding Radev's choice of partners, Radostin Vassilev stated: “Radev still has enough time to find the strength within himself to correct his mistakes. I am worried about who he will choose as his partner. What worries me is that in his public speaking and in the lists that I have carefully reviewed, I see an extraordinary number of GERB cadres. An extraordinary amount of clientelism, which we, including those from MECH, have rejected from our lists, at least 20 people are part of his lists.“
